Jeremy Stribling and two fellow MIT graduate students wrote a computer program to generate research papers complete with “context-free grammar,” charts and diagrams.

They submitted two of the randomly assembled papers to the World Multi-Conference on Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics (WMSCI).

One of the papers, called “Rooter: A Methodology for the Typical Unification of Access Points and Redundancy”, was accepted.

–
Hmm, should I just get a hold of this program and use that to hand in my paper for Monday?

On a second thought, I guess the paper was accepted because of the 3 magic letters: M.I.T. But still, they ought to read the paper once even if they don’t review it…

Since I have started on grad, my writing skills were called into question a number of times… I guess it’s a result of my lack of willingness to improve my written English skills… I often find myself lost for words when I’m writing, resulting in slow progress AND low quality… What a deadly combination this is.

When Yvonne’s paper was marked like a handkerchief with blood stains all over it after it was marked by the ICS writing assistance person, I wonder when I submit mine some time in the future, my paper will get sent back to me for rewriting after the first section is read…
